Docs · Guide step 5

Your declaration text.

Step five of the first-report guide. The declaration is the wording that prints on every report you release — what the assay is, and what a result does and does not mean. Here is how it works, and a paragraph to start from.

What the declaration is

The guide’s own description: “The methodology and limitations wording printed on the report. Keys like client name and test name fill in automatically per report.” It prints on the face of the released PDF, under your letterhead — methodology first, limitations after. A declaration can be scoped to a test, to a client, or to both, so the panel with special wording and the client with special wording each get theirs. The report content catalogue also holds declaration texts you can browse and take a copy of.

Four merge keys, filled in per report

Write the token into your text once and every report fills it in for itself.

{{labName}}
your lab’s name, as it prints on the letterhead
{{clientName}}
the ordering client on the accession
{{testName}}
the panel the report covers
{{reportDate}}
the date on the report

A starting point, not your declaration

Copy the block below, then make both halves yours: the methodology sentence belongs to your assay, and the limitations are what your director will sign. The two limitation sentences are the app’s own seed wording; everything else is a placeholder for your own.

StarterReplace the wording before you release with it.

Test methodology

Real-time PCR performed by {{labName}} on the validated targets of the {{testName}} panel.

Test limitations

A negative result does not exclude infection. Results should be interpreted alongside clinical presentation by the ordering provider. Prepared for {{clientName}} on {{reportDate}}.

Select it, copy it, and paste it at /report-texts — the merge keys come along and start working as they are.

Add yours in the app.

Paste the starter, reword it, and step five ticks itself off — the reports it prints on are already waiting downstream.
