How it works

Four moves, most days.

Raise an order. Review the run. Read an accession. Settle the invoice.

Here is each move, in order.

Before you start, have five things in hand.

A manifest CSV from your LIS, a result file from your instrument, your laboratory license number (the CLIA number, for US labs), your director’s name and a logo. The last three print on every report you release, so we need them before the first one goes out.

  • A result file from your instrument
  • Your laboratory license number (the CLIA number, for US labs)
  • Your director’s name
  • A logo file

Raise an order — six steps, and a draft that waits for you.

Six short steps take an order from its manifest to the invoice. Save it as a draft at any step, and it reopens on the step you reached.

Review the run — the gate holds until you’ve decided.

QC is your call; review opens when it passes. Every live result gets called — approve, inconclusive or reject — and release counts those calls against the run’s current result IDs, so a re-run starts the count again.

It checks the things a checklist can check. It never second-guesses your call.

Read an accession — the number, the window, and the call.

One accession, all of its targets: the Ct your instrument measured, the CT window your lab validated, and the call that follows — positive, negative, inconclusive or invalid. Load tiers and display formats decide how the number prints, so the report says what your lab means by it. And every accession names which template its report will print with, before anything is released.

Release — a branded PDF, per accession, from your template.

Templates are authored in HTML and CSS with a live preview, and merge tokens fill in the client, the test, the lab and the date; the backend renders the PDF. Assign templates per test or per client; exactly one default is enforced, and each accession shows which template it will print with. If the letterhead is missing something, the release gate names it and links straight to the setup that fixes it — nothing leaves half-dressed.

Settle the invoice — the price was on the screen all along.

Billing is per released report, and the invoice preview sits inside the wizard, so the cost of a report is visible before the report exists. You’re billed per report — a higher tier lowers the per-report rate. Your first report is free. Add a card whenever you like — you only need one to release the second.

When something was wrong — version 2, with a paper trail.

A corrected result file makes v2: a mandatory reason, who amended it, when, and a supersedes line on the face of the document. The specimen binding stays read-only. An accession can be amended once, and the amendment itself writes an audit entry.

The whole journey, from order to invoice.
